From Ancestral Wisdom to Underground Science:
Colombia is a land of immense psychedelic and cultural diversity, where Indigenous medicines, natural and synthetic substances, ancestral knowledge, and contemporary scientific approaches coexist and intersect. This conversation invites us to explore Colombia’s complex psychedelic landscape from a transdisciplinary perspective, bringing together Indigenous cosmogonies, diverse practices and forms of knowledge, and the emerging academic and civil psychedelic ecosystem, while reflecting on their historical roots and possible futures.
Sebastián Iguarán is a psychologist and a master’s student in Transdisciplinary Studies in Health at Universidad Externado de Colombia, focused on psychotherapy, harm reduction, and the therapeutic use of psychedelics. He is co-founder of Ciencias Psicodelicas and creator of Psicologo del Psiconauta, initiatives dedicated to scientific outreach and psychoeducation.
His work integrates evidence-based methods with existential and intercultural approaches to promote ethical and culturally sensitive therapeutic processes.
